Stephen's Leisure

This is a picture from the summer and was taken from a small, quiet beach in Michigan. It defines leisure, because I was able to relax with my girlfriend and enjoy a beautiful sunset on this peaceful lake. I really enjoy the moments when I can step away from the many responsibilities I have an spend time with people that mean the most to myself.

The definition of leisure is always evolving in my mind. Two years ago I might have put a picture of a golf club or gymnastics equipment to represent my passion for sports, but as I have learned to take on more responsibility in my life I have learned to enjoy spending time with my family and friends doing absolutely nothing at all. Leisure time to me is time spent relaxing and recuperating, away from the busy lives we all lead.

Kevin's Leisure

This is a picture of my friends and I in Chicago earlier this year. I like this picture because it represents most of my closest friends all together at one time, relaxing, seeing the sights, and enjoying each other's presence. I love my high school friends and hope that we will always be able to stay close like we were in this picture. This to me is the ultimate form of leisure.

To me, leisure is using your freetime to do something you truly enjoy with the people that you love most. Leisure is making the most out of your free time.

Greg's Leisure

This is a picture of a variety of equipment used in different sports. It represents my passion for mostly all sports, including basketball, football, and baseball. Playing sports means a lot to me because it's a good way for me to stay health and in-shape.
In addition, it gives me a chance to clear my mind and relieve a lot of stress; which brings me to my definition of leisure. I define leisure as an opportunity to escape the problems, work, and stresses of the world. Also, relaxing and/or doing something that you enjoy.

Leisure

This is a picture of my friends and I at a small party. One may find leisure in laying around the house, playing golf, sleeping, or watching television. One thing that I like to spend my leisure time doing is being with my friends. Any time I am with my friends, I feel at home and relaxed. Whenever things are not going my way and I need to get away from all the craziness in my life, I turn to my friends. You may not always find the perfect TV show to watch but you will alway have your friends around to hang out with. I think of leisure as being time when you need to relax and get away from the stress in life. It is the time when you have completed all of your work or just time here and there to take a break and relax. Without leisure in our lives we would all go crazy. Leisure is the time for peaceful thinking and total relaxation.

Nate's Leisure

As one can see I have a couple pictures surronding this blog. The first is my buddy and I after a baseball game. I believe one can find leisure in something organized like highschool baseball if one truly enjoys being there and sees it as a leisure. The next is of my family and I on vacation at my condo in Florida. Nothing is better to me than a week of relaxing, no worries, and some beach time. Both of these situations I was able to enjoy myself and freely chose to take part in during my free time to have fun and to laugh and play. I believe laughing, playing, and enjoying ones self is a huge part of leisure. Both pictures to me mean my leisure is spent a lot with other such as my family and friends, people I can enjoy spending time with, and can trust in any situation. Just like leisure, these people are the small gifts in life that mean the most.

To me leisure is free time that one does not waste. Free time that one organizes. A chance to take everything around you in and enjoy yourself. No matter who it be with or where you are as long as you feel its leisure. Leisure can be found in anything.

Leisure

This is a picture of a golf course. This represents leisure to me because when I want to get away from the hectic hustle bustle of everyday life I like to go play some golf and relax. When I am on a golf course I achieve a certain degree of personal achievement and try to get better every time I play. I play golf to relax and to me that is what leisure is. Leisure is a way out of work and stress and playing golf is fun and a way to relieve stress.

Leisure is an activity people take part in during their free time and are not obligated to do. Leisure a spiritual release.

Assignment one

This is a picture of my sister and I when we were little girls. To me this picture symbolizes my childhood when I had all the time in the world to do whatever I wanted. I had no responsibilities yet and no worries in my life. I spent all day playing with my sister Katie. When we were younger we didn't even need toys to play with because we had wild enough imaginations that we were fairly easily entertained.
As we got a little bit older, we started to play with Barbie dolls and Beanie Babies. We started school so we didn't have all the free time that we had been used to having. As we got even older, homework and after-school activities got in the way of the time we got to spend together at home. By high school I had grown accustomed to keeping busy with sports practice, clubs, and even more homework.
As I have gotten older, the way that I spend my leisure time has changed greatly. It has evolved from all day play-time to small intervals of time each day. To me, leisure is a reward for being organized and completing all of my responsibilities so that I can fully enjoy my free time. If I try to take leisure time when I have a list of unfinished tasks it ends up not being very relaxing because I dwell on what I should be doing instead. Leisure is earned time that I can spend doing what I want to do and not worrying about other obligations.
